Hello and Welcome darlings! I am m. patchwork monoceros and I am a poet and writer, a filmmaker, and a textile artist. some people call me mel or melannie or patch, but my preference is the latter. I love having cloth, thread, a fine-point Sharpie, or a keyboard under my fingers whenever I can.  I am also a facilitator, a mentee, and a mentor. I am Black of Awarak and Taino heritage via Jamaica by way of Toronto, ON the traditional land of the Haudenosaunee, Petun, Anishinabe, Mississaugas of New Credit, and Huron Wendat peoples, currently making home in Treaty 1 or so-called Winnipeg, MB home of the Métis First Nation and the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, Dene, Cree, Dakota and Oji-Cree Nations.   As a queer, agender, disabled and chronically ill creature, I am interested in deep-water truths and deep-space possibilities and exploring polysensory production praxis through my work and its echoes.
